Built in 1929 during the Italian occupation of Rhodes, Hotel Elafos (originally called Albergo del Cervo – Hotel of the Deer, because of the deer that live in the surrounding forests) is located on Mount Profitis Ilias. During the Second World War it was used by Italian and German soldiers, and since 1932 it has been operating with the addition of the “Elaphina” wing. The hotel attracts visitors for its unique architecture and the unique natural beauty of the area.
